Biography

Lilly Meleme is a distinguished Greek theatre artist with a strong presence in both acting and directing. She graduated with honors from the "Jenny Karezi" Drama School (1995–1999) and completed postgraduate studies in Acting and Directing at the Experimental Stage of the National Theatre of Greece (2001–2004). She further developed her approach to acting through advanced workshops in stage movement, acrobatics, and performance with leading Russian masters from the Moscow State Institute of Theatre Arts and the Vakhtangov Theatre Academy, as well as specialized training in Ancient Greek Drama and directing. Her acting identity is defined by a deep psychosomatic exploration of roles, meticulous attention to detail, and a focus on bringing out the unique subjectivity of each character. Drawing on her extensive experience, she actively teaches acting techniques, guiding performers to explore text, body, and imagination through specialized masterclasses and theatre workshops. Alongside her teaching and acting work, she has established a major career as a theatre director, collaborating with prominent institutions such as the National Theatre of Greece and the Art Theatre Karolos Koun.
