Overview

When work takes Little Sprout’s father away, he entrusts the child to the care of great-granny Asha. One night, as Little Sprout falls asleep, a strange light begins to glow from the soft spot on his head, awakening a mysterious power that connects him to the universe. Through this magical force, Little Sprout and his grandmother Mei-chen travel back in time to Asha’s childhood during the Japanese occupation of Taiwan. As they witness the struggles of the young Asha, Mei-chen begins to understand the painful past that shaped her mother’s life. But the past has not fully faded. A vengeful spirit from that turbulent era resurfaces, seeking revenge on the elderly Asha in the present. Now, Mei-chen and Little Sprout must find a way to return home before it is too late to save her.
